Well, you know, there are distributions out there that just can't be
used at all. There are distributions which require the user to build
everything too (LFS, Gentoo). Is it a reason to do the same?

Now if the default policy is to align Ubuntu's level of compliance on
the worst distribution available, I'm out of it.
