CD auto-play after upgrade

I performed a sync with the latest changes in Hoary yesterday and
noticed that after the upgrade, the CD that was in the drive started
playing.  I was away from the computer at the time so it was a bit
spooky to have the CD play automatically.

I know that HAL was one of the things that was upgraded and could be a
suspect.  I have the gnome removable storage settings set to auto-play
CDs.

I'm just wondering if this is desirable and/or preventable?  If it
were a DVD or other media in the drive I wouldn't want it to play and
bog down my system.
