| You're correct; this doesn't currently work as intended.  Please file a bug
| (Package: casper).  Casper ought to respect preseeding of passwd/username.

Casper already respects that.  The problem here is dpkg-reconfigure
passwd won't create the user and add it to appropriate groups.

This problem will go away with SimplifiedLiveCD anyway. :-)
