Well, the log_begin_msg not found bit is a bug in the initramfs which
I've now fixed. That's causing the udev script to abort without
waiting ... the easiest way to find out if this is actually the bug
itself:
1) let it drop to a shell
2) wait for a bit
3) does /dev/sda1 exist now?
If it does, the fixed udev will have already fixed it; if it doesn't
exist, then there's still a bug in the kernel.
