Compressing packages with bzip2 instead gzip?

Please also note that .7z is an archive format like .zip & .tar[1],
and that the 7z program supports several compression methods like LZMA
(the default), deflate (default zip/gzip compression), bzip2, PPMd
(best for text files) and BCJ2 (for binaries--maybe Windows-only?). 
And those methods each have several options that might influence
(de)compression size & time.

[1] But at this moment the 7z format does not support unix-style file
attributes, that's why .tar.7z is needed...
