Upgrade messed up loopback networking

Hi all,

I did an upgrade today and noticed that loopback networking is messed
up. The lo interface doesn't go up.

Using ifup lo gives the following result:
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
lo: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
lo: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
Failed to bring up lo.

Can this be related to hotplug? I noticed during previous boots that
something kept trying to rename lo to eth0, and it seems that this time
it finally did it.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Celso
