bugzilla crawl over dialup

Hi,

Can someone with the privileges mark one of these as duplicate bugs. I
could have sworn there was an older original bug out there but haven't
been able to find it yet.

Can I also say that this bug prevents a lowly dialup man like me from
contributing to Ubuntu. I'd quite happily spend some of my free time
triaging bugs or reporting new ones, but the interminable wait means
that I really think twice about it. I'd also like to point out that both
kde & gnome bugzillas are fast to come up.
