Many of people (including myself) that are subscribed to ubuntu-devel
are not employees of Canonical, the parent of Ubuntu.

Also, the thread starter was asking for advice regarding how to start
something that sounds similar to Ubuntu, so the people who do work for
Ubuntu might be able to give good advice based on their exeriences.
