libgnomeprint updates

I looked into the problem of selecting options when using remote
printers and found this
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170753
One obvious example is that I can't print test pages from my recently
upgraded Ubuntu PC (now Hoary) since by default it sends a testpage
with the paper size set to US Legal, and all the remote printers to
which I have access only support A4.
When I try to change the paper size in the printer dialog, the paper
size and all the other options that I should be able to use are greyed
out and do not allow me to select them.
I haven't found a way to downgrade to an earlier version of
libgnomeprint and libgnomeprintui - is there a way to do this without
reverting to Warty?
