actually the instructions are pretty clear on the forum web site to go
to somewhre else for support than ubuntu-devel:

In the top page for the forum link to ubuntu-devel
(http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=29), if you clink on "
[ *** Please read this before posting/replying in this forum. ***],
you get this page:

"The purpose of the "Ubuntu Developement Mailing List" forum is
explicitly intended for development discussions, and not for technical
support."

Seems pretty clear to me not to use ubuntu-devel for support.
