OK, lets party, but first do this (copy and paste into xterm:

sudo dpkg --force-overwrite --install	\
> /var/cache/apt/archives/python2.4_2.4.1-1_i386.deb

{you may need to do: 'sudo apt-get -f install ' (minus quotes)
afterwards for the install to finish setting up packages}

and then we can party =)
