Hi,
First off, I'd like to point you to the ubuntu users lists, as it is
more suited to these kinds of problems. (See
http://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users/).
When reporting a problem like this and seeking help, you need to provide
as much information as possible.
For example, the following information would be usefull in this case.
a) Are you using the default open source nvidia driver, or the binary
ones from nvidia
b) What type of nvidia card do you have.
c) A link to your Xorg log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log). (Don't include
these in an email as they are often very large in size.)
d) If you have submitted an entry to the ubuntu device database,
including your hwdb ID (You can get it and copy it into the clipboard by
re-opening the hardware database program, see Applications->System Tools
-> Ubuntu Device Database)
Additionally, by the sounds of your problem, it is not necesarily a
problem with nvidia, and could be a problem with a number of things, for
example some people have reported some of their USB devices stop working
under some circumstances, including keyboards etc, which could possibly
explain your problem.
Cheers,
Trent
