message on kernel upgrade

hi,

i noticed that there is no message that points out the fact that a
reboot is needed after kernel / modules upgrade like in debian.

has ubuntu worked around that necessity ?
 
else the user should get notified, there were some requests in -users
that could get solved by a reboot which the user had missed...
