Recent Ubuntu GNOME updates negatively affect Xinerama users

Hi

The most recent updates to Ubuntu GNOME have adversely affected my
Xinerama setup here. GDM now spans both monitors placing the login box
square in the middle of "the divide". GNOME panels also now extend
across the entire screen instead of staying on the primary.

Looks to me like it was built without Xinerama support.
