Let's not become one of the INCREDIBLY ANNOYING Unix systems that
decided that locate wasn't worth having working by default. Some of us
use heterogeneous environments and really want useful facilities like
locate to work everywhere; my general reaction to the crap commercial
Unix systems that broke locate is "well, I'll just not use that, then".

(I don't care about it working anacron-style; I do care about it working
on servers.)
