Hi.
and first, thanks for this nice distro, I'm a debian user very excited
by the work you are doing :)
We are here installing some thin clients (classic old PC), it's working
just fine by XDMCP, the problem is about access to devices. It looks
like we can do something with nbd (I've just read this howto:
http://trieste.linux.it/documenti/ThinClient.html ). But it seems a bit
hacky and certainly not well integrated into GNOME. And it was before
udev and usb keys, nbd doesn't seem to like on demand created devices...
I saw you want to work on thin client with NX, and wanted to know if you
are willing to work on this problem to make it better integrated. Thin
clients are quite common and I really think that this should be better
integrated into the desktop. I don't know much about NX, how much is it
more than an X proxy? perhaps does it already solve this problem but I
haven't currently found anything on it...
Perhaps it's not the right place to ask this, or shoud I ask on GNOME's
mailling lists, if so please tell me :)
I posted it here and not on the user list as it's more about future
direction than about using current ubuntu.
anyway, nice work
