Laptop power management support

I just tried the packages and hibernate works, but suspend-to-RAM doesn't
(which was expected, as I have never been able to get it to work) 
Laptop is a Acer Travelmate 8003
I tried a lot of different kernel configurations and never got
suspend-to-RAM to work. It seems to suspend correctly (power LED turns
orange) but doesn't come back: video doesn't start, keyboard doesn't work
(capslock key doesn't work, can't ctrl-alt-del to restart)
When I start the laptop after suspend-to-RAM the bluetooth LED blinks
which usually only blinks until the kernel gets loaded by grub.
