first of all.. let me say i respect your thoughts ad im not complaining
to anything you say.. im just telling you what it seems tome, although
im not going to carry on this discussion since im no-one in here and i
wouldnt like to be pointed at as the troll...
but:
1) as BtLUG and Italian UbuntuLinux Community [ItUC, from now on] we are
offering, for now [due to Uni if i dont find help ill be forced to stop
this service], free support to new-ubuntu users, we started a project
aimed to port ubuntu in public administrations... and voluntary
associations...
2) [follows from 1)] doing this, the biggest obstacles we found were
clerks [both voluntary and paid] saying "..mm i cant use this computer
because i cant find "my computer" icon... how can i print? is this the
print icon? mmm... yeah ok, but its 3 icons at the left were i left it
in Word..."
so plz, im very happy for you, and you should be proud of your mum...
but the Hominides, I'm talking about, are not able to use irc, not able
to use a ml, and they dont speak english, so if the OS throws and error
in english they're "lost in translation"...
..mm other than that i will thank everyone at canonical and every debian
developer
3) mind that every user i mentioned is not going to upgrade to hoary,
never ever, because "they dont know if they're using windows or
linux" ;) [they use it only bcause is free and you dont get viruses],
and they only want to be able to play solitaire, frozen bubble and use
openoffice.
with love
