So, what can I do? After following the IsdnHowto from the Wiki, I
get the same error message as above. I use the original Ubuntu
Kernel on this PC, where sysfs is compiled in, with no modifications
(except those ones mentioned in the Howto, that only affect modules
loaded).

$ uname -r
2.6.8.1-3-k7

Restarting udev doesn't help:

$ sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart
Password:
 * Recreating device nodes...                                 [ ok ]

$sudo /etc/init.d/isdnutils restart
Restarting ISDN services: error:
    Neither /dev/isdninfo nor /dev/isdn/isdninfo exist!
    Before you can use any ISDN facilities, ensure you have the
    proper kernel modules loaded. These will probably be 'isdn' and
    'hisax'. Read /usr/share/doc/isdnutils/README.HiSax.gz for more
    information (e.g. with 'zless
    (usr/share/doc/isdnutils-base/README.HiSax.gz').

I really appreciate any help, because my friend needs his PC (with
working ISDN support). TIA!

Regards,
    Christoph
