morning thoughts on firewall

At the risk of adding nothing to the thread...
_If_ Ubuntu lacks a firewall in the default install (I don't know if it does),
The Ubuntu default install should include it, _even_ if no web
servers/services are present on the computer. However, I say that with
the caveat that a _robust_ (i.e. sensible & easy to use) GUI interface
to the firewall be included, and, ideally, tied into a centralised
"network & web services control" panel where ports are opened/closed
when you turn on/off services. Of course, you do need to provide an
over-ride for users who'd like to (for one reason or another) have a
service on but no out-side access.
