</div>I also have suggested the same thing - other distros include pre-built<br>
kernel modules for their live media which means virtual machine<br>
testing is much easier to do and, as you say, performance is vastly<br>
improved. Not only does this provide a much better first impression it<br>
makes life easier for those who use virtual machines, either for<br>
development or just for testing. There's no need for DKMS, and<br>
installing/updating the modules later via DKMS works fine. I'm pretty<br>
sure Ubuntu could have a similar setup.<br>
