Gaurav, the key point here is interest - if you have your favourite tool on the Ubuntu project, then join the list and start following the discussions there and hopefully that should give you the opportunity to start helping and contributing code . <br>
<br>That said, most people start off becoming contributors by scratching their own itch. What that means is that if you want a feature that is missing in one of your favourite tools, just check out the code and create the feature or submit a patch. If the maintainer of that software is happy with your contribution, they might consider giving you write access to the code.<br>
