Cairo-dock Issues on 22.04

Hi
I have a fresh install of Ubuntu Mate 22.04 but cairo-dock doesn't
work, even though it works on 18.04 & 20.04.
I've tried installing it in many different ways (e.g. Synaptics, the
apt repository, even compiling source code from GitHub) but every time
it has the same symptom: it seems to install and run fine but when I
click on an icon, instead of running the program it thinks you want to
move it.

Is this something you're aware of and/or do you know if/when a fix
might be forthcoming?
