Hello there,

Not a dev but I can give a few suggestions.

- Use the built-in Driver Manager tool. It is a GUI program that does package installation for you. NVIDIA drivers get updates regularly, so I would not recommend copying outdated apt-get install commands you found online.

- Learn to temporarily modify kernel boot parameters from GRUB ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBootParameters#Temporarily_Add_a_Kernel_Boot_Parameter_for_Testing ). You may want to research the "quiet splash nomodeset" workaround in case your computer boots into a black screen ( https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1613132 ).
