pre-removal script of libertined kills itself

Dear libertined-maintainers,

removal of libertined fails on Ubuntu 17.04:

# dpkg -r libertined
(Reading database ... 278845 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing libertined:amd64 (1.7+17.04.20170320.1-0ubuntu1) ...
Shutting down the libertined service...
dpkg: error processing package libertined:amd64 (--remove):
 subprocess installed pre-removal script was killed by signal (Terminated)

The cause seems to be 'pkill libertined' in line 19 of
libertined:amd64.prerm, which kills the script itself (see also LP:
