I understand it is a microcode issue but am unclear on exactly how
the microcode code blob will be applied under Ubuntu and Debian. It is
unclear if that fix has to be done via a BIOS/UEFI firmware update for
the motherboard or if the microcode can be applied from the system
level instead.
