Why not set 11n_disable=8 as default?

Usually it's not as trivial as this. You might find, for example, that
while it works for you, doing that for some slightly different hardware
that uses the same driver breaks wifi completely on that hardware.

Working (albeit slow) wifi for one out of two use cases is clearly
better than completely broken wifi for one out of two cases.

More research is required, and that needs someone to volunteer that
effort.
