gcc-doc, cpp-doc will not update or delete

I have ubuntu 16.0 64-bit with gcc 5.3 and current documentation packages installed. The loader-packages gcc-doc and cpp-doc are still version 4.8. Synaptic flags these us updateable to version 5.3, but the update fails with the message:    "E: /var/cache/apt/archives/cpp-doc_4%3a5.3.1-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb: there is no script in the new version of the package - giving up
    E: /var/cache/apt/archives/gcc-doc_4%3a5.3.1-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb: there is no script in the new version of the package - giving up".Can we fix this?
