Is this the same as the bug report at
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=815335 ?

It would seem 16.10 has this fixed, as it has 2.6.0+dfsg-3, if so.
Someone would need to file a bug for an SRU
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates) for 16.04, if desired.
