package FreeRADIUS version

Hi,

may I ask why the freeradius package
(http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/freeradius) is still stuck on
2.1.12 in trusty, utopic and even vivid? That version is from Sep 2011
while the latest stable version 2.2.6 got released three years later
in Nov 2014. It is strongly advised NOT to use 2.1.12 anymore.

Quote from one of the FreeRADIUS core team members: "2.1.12 is ancient
and has plenty of bugs and security issues. If you really want to use
it, you're probably better off going to Ubuntu for help. Long term
"support" should mean that..."

Quote from one of the FreeRADIUS founders and core team members:
"<sigh> Upgrade to 2.2.6. The Debian / Ubuntu people have fixated on
2.2.12 for reasons I don’t understand."

Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards,

Ben Humpert
