I don't know; I am trying to figure out how to use pkexec to start synaptic; but did not have success with it so far.

Could anybody please confirm that pkexec is intended to start GUI-applications like synaptic and if possible point to some documentation about how to do it (or could anybody explain it to me)? (According to the following documentation, pkexec might not be intended for it.)

Moreover, is there any smart way to find all the applications or components that use gksu on a default Ubuntu desktop?

Cheers,

Francesco.
