Idea for 10.04

This is my fisrt time posting here, I was watching this thread with
interest.
Debian,BSD,Fedora and others offer the Select what Software to install
at first run.
I like this for the reason that if I do not want a server or a certain
program in the install or build process, it does not occur. If I later
choose or find that I need a byte or two of a pkg, I have the option to
install it and the option to remove it if I no longer require or use it.
The BSD that I am referring to is the FreeBSD or PC-BSD wich does fall
under the accepted GNU/GPL(some # here)
The selection, comes before the partition scheme so that one has enough
working space on the medium to continue.
