they come from a very old (and implemented spec) for screensaver pics
and are actually pics mark took when he was in space, the initial idea
was that the artwork team would enhance the selection of images in the
screensaver-default-images package with self breeded pictures ...

beyond the technical part here (the creation of the
screensaver-default-images package with marks initial artwork) the
artwork team part of the spec never took off actually ...
