May I quickly point out that lots of users' feedback in the realm of "ooh, Gnote is faster than Tomboy" is entirely based on the Tomboy shipped with 9.04 or earlier? There have been many speed improvements since then both in Tomboy and (as usual) the Mono runtime. Dylan
