When you launch F-Spot via the context menu in Nautilus, you are
actually opening it in the viewer mode.
Until a week or two ago, the viewer mode didn't have edit buttons. But I
believe a F-Spot developer submitted recently a hack that adds edit
features to the viewer mode. But you still have to get it from whatever
version control system F-Spot devs are using (git most likely).
