gnome-session underwent a re-write for Intrepid, which meant that the
old (Hardy) patch to provide the single session-dialog no longer worked
(leaving us with the separate upstream dialogs) You might want to check
out
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/251211
to understand why the situation has remained this way.
