What I've been told is the gedit implementation was *not hard to do*.
Beside that, I have no knowledge of C so it's out of question for me
to do that, otherwise I'd already have made such patch.
I gave a quick look to the chance to provide a python plugin as a
workaround but seemed to me the necessary hooks were not in place.
