Ubuntu Live 2008 Status

Folks, 

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask the question, but I got
no response on the main list.

I got an email from O'Reilly yesterday suggesting that Ubuntu Live 2008
has been canceled.

I'm starting to see others with similar messages in blogs, etc., asking
the same question, including speakers, who've received the same message.

Can anyone elaborate on what happened?
