It seems like if it grabbed the information from XRandR instead of
getting it through the xorg.conf file.  He is modifying the driver, I'm
not sure if it can touch other parts of X.

Really?  I thought X people hated DBUS.  I'm all for it, but I thought
that they were allergic :)
