Fedora 9 Beta does sound. Ubuntu Hardy does not?

For me, audio is broken in up-do-date hardy installed from beta: aplay
-l shows no device at all. I will investigate the problem and see if I
am missing modules, however I wanted to add this to the discussion. My
sound card is an integrated intel (centrino duo hardware).
