Every time you bring up yet another icon, or yet another popup box
(especially on startup), God kills a kitten.
Please, think of the kittens!
Let's not follow MS Windows' trends, here.
Besides, compiz may grow on people - so they may only wish to turn it
off after they've explored it a bit.
