understanding broken package

Tried gdebi with my test case, ggebi does not prevent this problem,  it will
not ask to remove packages which will get broken after the package install.
Wouldn't it be safer to prevent this type of operation (broking packagings)
by requesting a "--force" switch with  "dpkg -i" ?
If it is not reasonable to handle this at "dpkg" I will create a feature
request for gdebi.
