Upstreams are not the right people either.  The manufacturers and
vendors of the hardware are the right people to make the change.

Once all the hard drive, memory and computer manufacturers are using the
binary prefixes; the vendors will follow and use the binary prefixes
too.

Then the concern of user confusion is eliminated, and it would make
logical sense for software being changed.
