Last time I tried gnash  it was quite buggy.  But that was quite a
while back so  I'm sure things are better now.

It's nice to be able to offer a free choice to users, but I suspect
this one "feature"  (according to that wiki page) will prevent a lot
of people of switching to it:
      "not all Flash files play presently, such as YouTube"
