Application for ubuntu-desktop membership

Hi desktoppers,

I would like to be considered for membership in the ubuntu-desktop team.

Starting as a Linux user in the 1990s, I moved to Ubuntu around about 2007. In
2011 I started contributing to the Unity desktop and was asked to join
Canonical. In 2012 I joined the Canonical Desktop team as the full time
maintainer of Compiz underlying the Unity desktop. In 2013 I moved onto the Mir
team and stayed there until 2017 when I returned to the Canonical Desktop team
where I remain today.

Throughout this time I've had countless uploads sponsored, and have remained
the top (human) contributor to bug management karma in Ubuntu for most of a decade.

Being able to upload packages myself would remove the biggest delay I
experience in my daily work and make the whole team slightly more efficient.
