I have backported what was listed as nm-1-10 fix for the bug in the upstream bugzilla [1].
I have also applied fixes for bug #1825946 and bug #1790098 to it.

After testing this build for some time (available at ppa:dgadomski
/network-manager) I haven't found any problems.
