= GNOME =
Desktop seeds not updated yet. A security review is being done on gdm (
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1686393). Thanks Seth &
Jeremy.
GNOME Shell build tests are now enabled.
Marco has been working on more theme fixes. See “In the news” for details
of how to test these latest fixes.

= LivePatch =
The LivePatch work is progressing well. We have now automated the
installation of the LivePatch daemon Snap for users where it is not
currently installed. We’ve nearly completed the Ubuntu One SSO login
integration work to allow you to authenticate to LivePatch and get your API
key. Work is currently going on in the Software Properties window to
display information about LivePatch updates.

= QA =
Upgrade tests are all green and added to our Grafana dashboard. More
details on the dashboard coming soon (once we’ve added some more metrics).
We’ve fixed the static validation tests so that daily images can be
automatically promoted to “current”.

Brian Murray has fixed the release upgrader so that people can jump to a
non-LTS release from an LTS release where the intermediate step is End Of
Life and we’re working on enabling upgrade testing for these paths so that
we can make them as stable as possible. We want to make sure that 16.04
LTS users can easily upgrade to 17.10 to test out the GNOME desktop as
we’re expecting that people will want to take it for a spin. Thanks Brian!

= Package Updates & Bugs =
We’ve done triage on Theme bugs to clear the decks for the fixes being done
in Ambiance and Radiance on GNOME Shell.
We’ve done a lot of triage on PulseAudio, 1000 old bugs are due to expire
in July. As above, this will make it much easier for us to spot new
problems and focus our time on getting the important issues fixed first.
A fix for Bluetooth H2DP profile in in the works, bringing significant
improvements to the sound quality on Bluetooth audio devices.
We’ve uploaded gnome-software 3.24.3 to Artful.
Chromium beta is updated to 59.0.3071.61 in the testing PPA and dev to
60.0.3100.0.
Cups-filters has been synced from the Debian package version 1.14.0 into
Ubuntu.
Simple Scan 3.25.2 is released.

= Snaps =
We’ve updated the platform Snap to gnome-3-24.
Work to get Gnome builder generating Snaps is moving forwards. The plugin
now features a build system discovery class to detect Snapcraft projects by
identifying the snapcraft.yaml file at one of the supported locations. A
pipeline addin class exists to add the ability to launch Snapcraft to build
the project. We’re also working on a new project template to help get
people started with their Snapcraft project.

= In The News =
Hear what Linux Action News had to say about the move to GNOME Shell and
the extensions survey: http://linuxactionnews.com/2

This was also covered in depth on the Ubuntu Podcast:
http://ubuntupodcast.org/2017/05/18/s10e11-flaky-noxious-rainstorm/

The OMG Extensions survey is now closed. Ken is writing up a report on
what we found out, and that will be published very soon. We got an
incredible number of responses, thank you all very much.

Marco details how to test the theme tweaks and how to report bugs you find:

Cheers, Will
