Welcome to Ubuntu. Ubuntu has almost no learning curve, and if ever you
feel lost, a simple search should help you.

Join Ubuntu forums or Ask Ubuntu and explore the wealth of information
there and elsewhere on web. This mailing list involves discussions about
Ubuntu in general. Hang around to get an idea of how things happen
around here.

It all begins with a start.
http://www.ubuntu.com/community/get-involved has some useful pointers to
begin with.

Few tips, or rather, mailing list guidelines.
It is considered better to reply inline. To reply inline, you write a
reply immediately below relevant message from the sender, like I did.
Always start a new topic by using compose.. reply option links the mail
invisibly using message-headers to the one you are replying to.
