$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jbicha/ibus
$ sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get upgrade
$ gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['JavaEmbeddedFrame', 'Wine', 'Update-notifier', 'ibus']"
$ gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.keyboard active false
logout and re-login
