The laptop-detect package makes it possible to guess whether the system is a
laptop, that's the easy part.

It's probably not worth the trouble to change the behaviour based on whether
the system is currently running on battery power (what happens if you unplug
mains power while the screensaver is active?), so perhaps blanking is still
the most sensible default.
